are as follows:
1.
Fending further instructions the sanarate fee
should be charged. Dae Circular to Consuls No.41
of July 13th, 1922.
2.
From Section 19 Chapter XV11 of the General
Vonsular Instructions and the form of endorsement given in Annex 3 to that chapter, it is presumed that the answer is in the negative.
3. The answer is given in Section 2 (8) of the
China (Amendment) Order in Council 1921, 1.e. that
you should use your discretion as to the evidence of British nationality you s'ould require. It is not usual to demand documentary evidence of marriage
unless you have re-son to doubt the genuineness of
the claim.
As regards the inclusion of more than one wife
on a parsnort, the point is not likely to rise in
China. Chinese British Jubjects are limited to
one lezal wife by either British or whinese law.
4. You are referred to Mircular to Consuls No.31
Kastes, Esquire,
His Majesty's Consul,
A MOY.
